Eric Lenard

Eric Lenard is Worldwide Senior Director of Finance for DePuy Synthes Spine, a Johnson & Johnson company in Raynham, Massachusetts, and the second-largest spinal care medical device company in the world. 

In his role, Eric is responsible for the financial leadership, direction, and management of the $1.9 billion business, and, as a member of the DePuy Synthes Spine Board, Eric is responsible for setting and executing the short and long term strategy for the business that develops innovative orthopedic and neurosurgical products that address key areas of spinal care, including cervical, aging spine, vertebral body replacement, minimally invasive surgery and the emerging area of biologics.


Before joining Johnson & Johnson in 2004, Eric worked at Procter & Gamble, serving in several roles with increasing responsibilities including Finance Manager for P&G’s global water filtration business; Profit Forecaster for the North American Fabric Care business unit, and Group Finance Manager for the Cheer, Bounce, Dreft, Ivory Snow, and Bold fabric care brands.

Eric’s first role with Johnson & Johnson was with J&J Vision Care in Jacksonville, Florida, the inventors of the disposable soft contact lens and makers of Acuvue, the world’s #1 contact lens brand.  Eric was at J&J Vision Care for 5 years, serving as Finance Manager for their pharmaceuticals franchise and Director of Finance for their New Ventures organization.

In 2009, Eric relocated to New Jersey where he took on the role of Director of Finance, Americas Operations for Ethicon, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company in Somerville, New Jersey, and the world’s leader in tissue repair and wound management medical devices.  In that role, Eric headed the financial and strategic analysis and accounting for all North and South American manufacturing and supply chain activities for the company, including eight manufacturing and logistics facilities in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Brazil producing over $1 billion of products in the tissue repair, wound closure, women’s health & urology, and advanced wound management areas.  Eric held that role for 2 ½ years before relocating to southeastern Massachusetts to assume the role of DePuy Spine Finance Director in October 2011 and was promoted to his current role in September 2012.

Eric is a 1997 graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, earning both his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and his MBA as part of the Max M. Fisher College of Business’s “3/2” program, and is a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Finance Manager.  Eric graduated from Ohio State with honors, winning the Robert S. Georges Pacesetter Award for Top Undergraduate Senior in the Max M. Fisher College of Business, the President’s Award for being one of the Top Twenty Graduating Seniors in the University, and Graduate School awards for being in the top 15% of his MBA graduating class and being the top student in the MBA Finance program.  Eric earned Summa Cum Laude distinction upon graduation. 

He is happily married and is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.
